Director Freddy Collier, Jr. (Director of City Planning @Cleveland, OH)
Freddy Collier, Jr., is the Director of City Planning in Cleveland. Appointed by the Mayor in 2014, Director Collier is the first African American to serve in this role. With over 20 years of experience in community lending and urban planning, Director Collier works with a team of professional planners that promote and implement initiatives throughout the City and Region. He has led several citywide initiatives including the Connecting Cleveland 2020 Citywide Plan, the Re-imagining a More Sustainable Cleveland Initiative, and the development of strategies to guide the dispensation of land bank parcels through the City’s Land Bank Program.

Mr. Jacques Colon (Tacoma 2025 Strategic Lead @Tacoma, WA)
Jacques Colon currently serves as the Strategic Manager for the City of Tacoma (WA), where he manages Tacoma 2025, a community-informed strategic vision and framework for Tacoma’s future. He previously served as the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department’s health equity coordinator for five years, leading a team charged with improving the structures, processes, and practices of the health department in order to eliminate health inequities in Pierce County, WA.

Mayor Marita Garrett (Mayor @Wilkinsburg, PA)
Mayor Marita Garrett is a long-time civic and community engagement leader in Wilkinsburg, PA. As a Councilwoman, she started “Wilkinsburg Community Conversations,” an initiative to connect and empower residents to work together for neighborhood improvement. Elected Mayor in 2017, she continues to be a strong advocate for community initiatives and youth programs. Mayor Garrett also founded Civically, Inc, a nonprofit that builds civic and social literacy through community development.
