Live Play Reading: The Theater Project
The Friends of the Cranford Public Library invite everyone to attend a live theatrical performance - from the safety and comfort of your living room. New Jersey’s own Theater Project will present a virtual script-in-hand reading of three original short plays by Mike Sockol. The reading will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience, director, playwright and cast. Funds benefiting the Theater Project have been provided by the Friends of the Cranford Public Library.

Greeks in Marseille—A grumpy couple consider their options when they are stuck in a snowbound cabin after they try to escape their cramped apartment in NYC.

Big in Texas—The owner of a Texas clothing store reconsiders her purpose in life when a mysterious stranger arrives looking to buy his first suit.

Jewish Christmas Trees—Two old friends share lunch in their favorite dinner and argue if Jews invented Christmas.

Mike Sockol has been honing his storytelling skills for over 40 years as a journalist, corporate communications specialist, and an adjunct instructor at New York University. Mike began writing plays in 2014, and since then, he has completed over 25 works. A majority of his plays have been staged or had staged readings throughout North America and England. One of his plays, Pets (and Their Humans), received a Perry award for Best Original Play from the New Jersey Association of Community Theaters.
