This webinar will focus on offshore wind as a powerful engine for achieving net-zero emissions by mid-century. Speakers will give an overview of the role offshore wind can play in creating a just transition and the policies needed to ensure racial equity, environmental justice, and high road jobs.
Discussion will center around:
– Questions investors can use in company engagements with energy utilities planning offshore wind investments
– Guidelines for impact investors
– Opportunities for investors to support regional initiatives and state-level policy in Northeastern states.
The webinar will cite initiatives underway in the Northeast U.S. and specific policies needed to ensure a rapid, just development of offshore wind power, but applies to wind development and just transition initiatives broadly.
Speakers will include representatives from the Environmental League of Massachusetts, the Blue/Green Alliance, The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, ICCR and Ceres.
