CPD for Built Environment Professionals - The Challenge of Climate Change
We are delighted to invite you to the third of five sessions in season two of Continuing Professional Development for built environment professionals, curated by the Commonwealth Association of Architects (ACU), the Commonwealth Association of Planners (CAP), the Commonwealth Engineers Council (CEC) and the Commonwealth Heritage Forum (CHF).

Infrastructure systems are now the number one driver of carbon dioxide emissions across the world. These emissions are the cause of climate change, every day and everywhere. The aim of the session will be to identify what needs to be done and who needs to do it. And what - and where - will be the consequences if we fail.

The session will be chaired by Prof Paul Jowitt, President, Commonwealth Engineers Council. Following a short framing presentation from Ms Rachel Skinner, President of the Institution of Civil Engineers whose Presidency is Zero Carbon, Rachel and Paul will be joined by the following panel of discussants:

* Ms Lee Siang Tai, Immediate Past President, World Green Building Council
* Ms Elizabeth Wangeci Chege, Chair, Kenya Green Building Society
* Ms Nongcebo Hlongwa. Lead, Durban Local Climate Action Plan

The panel discussion will include engagement from an external expert Mr Jonathan Duwyn, Programme Manager, GlobalABC, UNEP.

Ample time will be given for Q&A. Due to the capacity of the zoom webinar we recommend you join 5-10 minutes early for each session so that you are guaranteed a place. The event will also be simultaneously live streamed to Vimeo should the Zoom reach full capacity. The recording will be uploaded on our website as soon as possible following the session.
