Coughlin MS, NNP, RNC-E Mary Coughlin, RN, MS, NNP, founder and president of Caring Essentials Collaborative, LLC has served as their global learning officer since 2010. Ms. Coughlin’s seminal work merging the Joint Commission concept of core measures with developmentally supportive care frames her current passion. Ms. Coughlin authored the 2011 NANN Guidelines for Age Appropriate Care of the Premature and Critically Ill Hospitalized Infant and most recently authored the book: Transformative Nursing in the NICU: Trauma-informed, Age-appropriate Care (Springer Publishing 2014). An internationally recognized expert in the field of trauma-informed age-appropriate care in the NICU, Ms. Coughlin has been an invited speaker at various national and international neonatal conferences in addition to her passion in educating, coaching and mentoring NICU clinicians and administrators transforming the NICU culture of care. Edward Redd MD Dr. Edward Redd started out his career as an Internal Medicine physician. He earned his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University and then went to the University of Utah for medical school. Dr. Redd did his residency at Oregon Health Sciences University. He has a diverse work background which includes primary care, hospice, public health, inmate care and psychiatry. Dr. Redd divides his time between Bear River Health Department, Cache County Jail, Bear River Mental Health, Logan Regional Hospital, and CHC Inc. in Logan and Brigham City/Tremonton, UT. Scott Wexelblatt MD Dr. Scott Wexelblatt is the Regional Medical Director of Newborn Services for the Cincinnati region. He is an associate professor in the Division of Neonatology, Perinatal Institute at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Scott attended medical school at the University of Vermont, and completed his pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He is a faculty member with the Ohio Perinatal Quality Collaborative (OPQC) on the Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome project.
