Bianca Alvarez is the Student Engagement Coordinator of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at El Paso. Bianca earned a Master’s degree in Software Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at UTEP. As a CAHSI Scholar, Bianca leads events to increase the representation of Hispanic students in computer science.
The Computing Alliance of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (CAHSI) was established in 2006 to address the low representation of Hispanics in computing in both higher education and the workforce. CAHSI works across the U.S. and Puerto Rico to recruit, retain, and advance Hispanics in computing.
