Accelerating Community College Transformation #CCGEF #Micropathways
Community College Growth Engine Fund National Convening
Have we found the gateway to community college transformation? Leaders share micro-pathway success stories during this January 2022 virtual event.

Education Design Lab, a national nonprofit that designs, implements, and scales new learning models for higher education and the future of work, hosts its second annual National Convening to showcase its Community College Growth Engine Fund (CCGEF, or the Fund, for short). Six of the nation’s largest community colleges and systems joined the Fund’s first cohort, surpassing their goals by designing 30 “micro-pathways” in the first year.

What are micro-pathways? These employer-validated credentials take less than a year to earn and connect low-wage and entry-level workers to in-demand jobs that pay at-or-above median wage. Micro-pathways also stack to a degree, which can be earned later or part-time while working.

National leaders, funders, and participating organizations will convene to take stock of the significance of micro-pathways and related system changes to dramatically expand access to living wage job opportunities, develop the talent of learners—(especially adults), and meet critical employer needs in high demand occupations. Leaders will share ways that micro-pathway development has catalyzed systemic change to maximize earned credentials and reduce equity gaps in community colleges.
