Simone C. O. Conceição is a professor and department chair at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. With over 25 years of professional experience in distance teaching and learning and training, her work and publications focus on online presence, learning design, and faculty workload, among other topics.

Les Howles has over 30 years of experience in distance education, instructional design, and multimedia learning. He is a recognized leader in the field of online education and eLearning. Throughout his career he has designed and taught online courses and led teams of designers, programmers, instructors, and digital media producers in creating innovative solutions for education and training.
