RESNET Quality Assurance Designee/Instructor Exam Prep
In this webinar, the RESNET QA Team will prepare attendees for the RESNET Quality Assurance Designee (QAD)/Instructor Exam. The primary target audience is RESNET HERS Raters, RESNET QAD Candidates, and/or RESNET Instructor Candidates. We will review QAD/Instructor responsibilities and requirements, best methods to prepare for the QAD/Instructor Exam, and practical QAD training (including use of the QA Review Checklist).

Learning Objectives:
Learn how to study for the RESNET QAD/Instructor Exam.
Understand how to use keywords to better access information in the RESNET standards and in other standards and resources.
Learn about QAD job responsibilities.
Learn how to use the RESNET QA Review Checklist.

Scott Doyle
Technical Director of Quality Assurance & Training @RESNET
Scott Doyle is the Technical Director of Quality Assurance and Training for RESNET. Since joining the residential energy industry nearly two decades ago, Scott has performed inspections and energy modeling on thousands of new and existing homes across a variety of construction types and climate zones. As Primary QAD for multiple HERS Providers, he oversaw and mentored a large team of Quality Assurance Designees and Delegates. As an instructor, Scott has trained hundreds of Energy Professionals across the U.S. using a variety of formats including field, classroom, and e-learning. He has been directly involved in industry standard development through committee appointments and has served as a volunteer subject matter expert for multiple industry certification exams. As RESNET’s Technical Director, Scott is heavily involved with implementation of RESNET’s Quality Assurance, Training, and Technical Standards.
Billy Giblin
Quality Assurance Field Specialist @RESNET
Billy Giblin is the Quality Assurance Field Specialist with RESNET. Billy Giblin has worked in the high-performance building and energy efficiency industry for over thirteen years. He started this work with a general contractor doing new and retrofit construction. Billy later earned a degree in Energy Management. He went to work with Nexant in 2010, providing quality assurance for utility new home programs and state existing home programs. Billy has been an active HERS Rater since 2011 and is a RESNET Quality Assurance Designee. He has completed over a thousand QA field inspections and performance tests of HERS rated new homes. Billy played a prominent role in Utah in HERS Rater training, mentoring and technical support, as well as providing QA, training, and technical support to builders and trade contractors. As RESNET’s Quality Assurance Field Specialist, Billy travels around the country and works with the RESNET Provider and Rater network.
