In this ARC Talks webinar, Sandy Wong, MD, and Nancy Wong, NP, will discuss autologous stem cell transplantation as a therapy choice for AL amyloidosis patients. Dr. Wong will outline each phase of the process and go over the function of stem cell transplants in the context of medical care.

Nancy Wong will discuss how to prepare for a stem cell transplant while highlighting key care considerations for each phase of therapy. Her concluding remarks will focus on important considerations during the recovery period.

There will be a Q&A session after the presentation.

She is a plasma cell doctor who specializes in the treatment of multiple myeloma and systemic AL amyloidosis. Her research focus in plasma cell diseases is on CAR-T cell therapies, T-cell engagers and novel agents. Nancy Wong, NP, MSN (Nurse Practitioner, Division of Hematology/Oncology @The University of California, San Francisco Medical Center) Nancy graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development. Her interest in nursing led her to obtain a Master of Science degree in nursing, which started her career as a nurse practitioner. While working in oncology, her passion for the patient population grew, as she has spent the last 12 years caring for oncology patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting. She currently works at UCSF in the hematology, bone marrow transplant, and cellular therapy department with a focus in managing patients with Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis. Nancy currently volunteers as a co-chair in the Nursing Work Group at the Amyloidosis Research Consortium.
