Beyond Warnock and Ossoff, A Black History Month Discussion of African American and Jewish Relationships
Discussion in conjunction with the BLM Engaged Art Installation and the Ethnic Studies Department Community Conversation Series
A little over a month ago, Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff were the first African American and Jewish Senators from the state of Georgia. Their being sworn in together is the latest part of a long history of cooperation leading to successful challenges to racism and antisemitism in the United States. This panel discussion will highlight the connection of African American and Jewish history in U.S., what racism and antisemitism are today, and current efforts of students and community members to bring the communities together.
