Beyond 3D: Improving Project Outcomes with 4D Planning

The term '4D Planning & Scheduling' is quickly becoming ubiquitous within the construction industry, and for good reason. In today's modern age, the majority of construction projects are designed with 3D software, and the outcome is a 3D model. The fourth dimension, referred to as 4D, simply adds a time element to the 3D model. This creates a new value proposition for all project stakeholders using these two common project deliverables; one that hasn’t been realized since 1910, when the Gantt chart was conceptualized.
