Perfecting Policy with Pilots
New mobility has transformed how we move over the last decade. Electric scooters, app-enabled ride-hailing, and autonomous shuttles are already impacting communities that are struggling to determine the role of these tech-based disruptions in the larger transportation ecosystem and how they can support broader policy goals such as equity, access, and sustainability.

This webinar will explore findings from “Perfecting Policy with Pilots,” a new report from the University of Oregon’s Urbanism Next Center that sets forth 10 recommended actions for public agencies planning new mobility pilots to implement policies rather than work against them. Principal investigator Becky Steckler, AICP, will discuss key lessons from the report and highlight emerging trends based on an assessment of 220 pilots and 11 in-depth case studies. Carlos Pardo will discuss how this information helps inform pilot projects around the world and how this report relates to the work NUMO has been doing in cities in the U.S. and around the world.
