Laura Donovan Haines joined Guardian in March 2017. She serves as the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and leads the state and federal advocacy efforts in support of Guardian’s public policy goals. She also serves as the Executive Cosponsor for Guardian’s Black Employee Inclusion Network (BeIN) and is a leader in the company’s Inclusion and Diversity initiatives. Laura spent 15 years in the Washington, D.C., office of The Hartford Financial Services Group, where she most recently served as vice president of federal affairs. During this time, she advised The Hartford’s executive leadership team on federal and state legislative and regulatory opportunities. She has also chaired the American Insurance Association’s Federal Affairs subcommittee and the American Council of Life Insurers’ Long Term Care Federal Legislative Strategy Group. Before joining Government Affairs, Laura spent nearly a decade in group benefits sales with The Hartford and Standard Insurance Company.
