Disability Policy Today and Tomorrow
Rachel Good, senior policy adviser to Representative Steny Hoyer (D-MD-05), will lead a virtual discussion on current Congressional priorities for disability policy and the impact disability caused by long-COVID will have on disability policy moving forward, including:
1. Making overdue changes in means tests and benefits to better reflect the state of needs;
2. Establishing clear SSI and SSDI eligibility guidelines for cases of long COVID; and
3. Balancing these new claims against the nearly one-million claim backlog SSA currently faces.

The discussion will include crucial input from stakeholders from the disability community.

Hosted by the National Academy of Social Insurance (nasi.org). This discussion will be captioned and simultaneously interpreted in ASL.

Oct 6, 2022 12:00 PM in Eastern Time (US and Canada)
