In order to come up with the right segmentation strategy for your contacts, you’ll want to really think about what’s most beneficial to them.

Not every message is going to be relevant to every subscriber. So think about the interests that people will have with your products, services, programs, or even content.

Think about the types of content and information that will make sense for your business or organization and your audience to receive.

At a high level, it might mean grouping people in your list based on different demographic characteristics, interests, location, or behaviors.

You want to make sure you’re sending relevant information to the right people. So it’s important to understand that all of your subscribers are different. They are at different stages in the buying process, and simply have different needs from you.

You basically want to take contacts and split them into different lists or segments so when you’re ready to send your next targeted email, you can send it only to that group.
