Path to Proficiency: Differentiating the Maps for English Learners
Path to Proficiency builds on the power of Thinking Maps with specific strategies for English Learners. Thinking Maps is a “visual language for learning” that helps students activate cognitive processes and access grade-level content. We’ll show you how the Maps can be used to:
• Differentiate and scaffold instruction for language proficiency or other learning needs
• Explicitly teach language through content
• Help students with limited English proficiency access grade-level content and concepts
• Address the four components of language (listening, speaking, reading, and writing)
