Join Liesje Dusauzay as she speaks about her experiences of Autism as a parent in so many different ways, and the journey that she went through in her life. As the founder of Sparkle Sheffield, Leesh will talk about what motivates her to keep going, to make the world a better place for children, young people and their families.
Liesje is a dyslexic black woman with four children, three of them are autistic. One of them has learning difficulties and the other two are also dyslexic. Liesje founded Sparkle Sheffield in September 2014. She is also the founder of the South Yorkshire Autism Fayre. The first ever Fayre was March 2015.
Join Liesje as she is joined by Pamela Aculey, an author, creator and founder of 'Just Like Me - a picture book series that champions diversity and inclusion whilst using Augmented Reality (AR) technology to bring the stories to life. Listen to Liesje and Pamela discuss their triumphs and fears of raising black autistic children in today’s society, as well as the challenges of their own community’s acceptance of her children.
