History Camp: History Outdoors
Week 1: Monday, June 22 and Thursday June 25, 1:00-1:45 p.m. ET
During our first week together, we will be going on a scavenger hunt in our town to find a significant street sign to research and present for our class.

Week 2: Monday, June 29 and Thursday, July 2, 1:00-1:45 p.m. ET
This week, we will be searching our town for a momentous monument to research, draw, and present for our class.

Week 3: Monday, July 6 and Thursday, July 9, 1:00-1:45 p.m. ET
We will peek into local parks to find symbols, benches, and memorials to research, draw, and present for our class.

Week 4: Monday, July 13 and Thursday, July 16, 1:00-1:45 p.m. ET
During our last week together, we will search throughout our town for buildings and schools that are significant to research, draw, and present for our class.

Note: Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian register for them.

Mary Huffman
Mary Huffman is the 2015 National History Teacher of the Year and has nineteen years of experience as an educator in South Carolina. She is completing her Doctorate in Education with a focus on College Teaching and Learning at Walden University. Through the use of integrated, rigorous, interactive curriculum, Mary has developed units that bring history to life, stimulate inquiry within her students, and meet the needs of all the learners since individualized instruction and differentiation are essential.
