Please join the Board on Thursday, September 24, for a virtual policy forum on Representative Payees: Opportunities to Improve Service Delivery.
The forum will showcase an independent, Board-commissioned study by researchers from the Virginia Tech Center on Gerontology and the American Bar Association Commission on Law and Aging. The report, Selection Processes for SSA Representative Payees of Adults, and full agenda are available on our website at https://www.ssab.gov/representative-payees-opportunities-to-improve-service-delivery/.
Following the presentation of the report, the Board will moderate three panels. Discussions will cover capability determinations, the selection process, training, oversight, and the need for ongoing research and evaluation. The final panel will consider the public service implications of a more individualized, supported decision-making model, and how to get there.
The webinar will open at 9:45 am, begin at 10 am, and conclude by 4:30 pm, including breaks.
