Families are not just the ones who own the assets, they are your assets. If you maintain good relationships, build trust and good transparency while working with them, they will not only tell their friends, but will be there for many years for future investments and collaborations. A CIO at an institutional body though, well, not really.

The need to reach out to family offices and the high net worth continues to grow. However, there continues to be a major disconnect in how entities engage with families.

Most conversations with families are dead on arrival, as the finesse in engaging is an art, not a science, and definitely not one size fits all.

But as always, family offices will be the fastest to react and take advantage of good opportunities, so if you are one of those great opportunities, pay close attention.
