This fall, CityGate will endeavor to offer our growing community practical and helpful tools for your everyday work. We are so delighted to to start the fall season off with our friends and partners from the Global Faith and Work Initiative, a ministry of Redeemer City To City.
· September 15: The Missional Disciple: Pursuing Mercy and Justice at Work with Pastor Kimberly Deckel, Director of Faith, Work, Mercy and Justice for City to City North America. As disciples of Jesus, our workplaces can often be our primary place of mission. Yet we often fail to recognize two key dimensions of our work—mercy and justice. This Lab invites you to grasp hold of your identity as a missional disciple and to integrate mercy and justice within your industry.
· October 13: Tools for Leading Myself and Others with Lisa Slayton, Director of CityGate and founder of Tamim Partners. The rate and pace of change in our workplaces has become almost indigestible. How are we to navigate every day’s pressing demands coming at us from multiple directions and our teams, producing anxiety and even burnout in our daily work lives? This Lab will introduce you to two tools that have the potential to be helpful in sorting out what is manageable and what is not, and how to ‘manage the unmanageable’ in some useful and actionable ways.
· November 17: Practices for Wholeness with Dr. Kara Martin, author of Workship I and II. We are constantly being formed and shaped by many things. It is easy to let the ways of our workplace and its culture shape how we spend our days, make decisions, and lead ourselves and our teams. But it doesn't have to be that way. Join Kara Martin as she helps us strengthen our daily practices that prepare us and guide us in our everyday work.
