Worker's Memorial Day
In honor of Worker's Memorial Day, the Hudson Valley Area Labor Federation's Events Committee is pleased to announce that a webinar will be held on Saturday morning, May 1st, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. via Zoom. This program, being led by HVALF Past President and retired NYS United Teachers Association board member Paul Ellis-Graham, will feature a detailed analysis of the horrific event that transformed New York's labor laws and drew national attention to working conditions in America's factories and their impact on young female workers.

Understanding this critical episode in America's labor history will foster a discussion of strategies and goals that are not dissimilar to those being raised in the US today as we experience the impact of Covid-19, the responsibility of both business and government in providing a safe work environment, and the 2021 legislative agenda of the AFL which includes the passage of the PRO (Protecting the Right to Organize) Act.

Please join us in honoring those who lost their lives on that fateful Saturday (March 25th) in 1911 and assist us in securing those reforms that will increase protections for all fellow working women and men.

May 1, 2021 10:00 AM in Eastern Time (US and Canada)
