Dr. Saumil Dholakia

Dr. Saumil Dholakia is a clinical fellow in Geriatric Psychiatry and Clinical Pharmacology at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, McMaster University and GeriMedRisk. Previously, Saumil has worked as a consultant psychiatrist for 10 years with Christian Medical College, Vellore. He is a Bioethicist with a Post-graduate Diploma from Bharathiar University Coimbatore and a Master’s degree from the Joint Center of Bioethics, University of Toronto. His areas of interest are pharmacogenomics in older adults, pharmacologically informed clinical decision-making, deprescribing ethics, and MAiD in people with Dementia.
Pam Howell

Pam Howell is a pharmacist working for almost 20 years with older clients and clients with complex chronic conditions at Bruyère Continuing Care, Ottawa. From 2018 to 2020, her role with the Bruyère Deprescribing Guidelines team has focused on knowledge mobilization, community engagement and research efforts to highlight the role of deprescribing as part of good prescribing (www.deprescribing.org). More recently, her passion to help her patients has led her to join GeriMedRisk with the focus on improving prescribing in older adults through a virtual consult service. She is looking forward to sharing knowledge and patient experiences in deprescribing to help you manage your patient’s medications effectively.
