Please join us Thursday, May 28 at 12pm PT for an online event featuring Chris Arnade, author of Dignity: Seeking Respect in Back Row America.
Discovery Institute's Christopher F. Rufo will interview Arnade about the dynamics of American poverty, his long road trips through America's "forgotten cities," and the political dimension of anti-poverty policy.
Ten years ago, Arnade left a successful Wall Street career to document poverty and addiction in the Bronx. His countless interviews and photographs led to close friendships with homeless addicts, marginalized Americans, and hours spent in drug dens. What he found in "Back Row America" was a class of people who have long been forgotten and overlooked.
His book is an attempt to cast light on the inherent dignity of Back Row America—and to hold the elites in "Front Row America" accountable for their complicity in this human crisis.
