K-12 Education Advocacy-What decisions are made where
Local school boards, the state school board, the Arkansas General Assembly, the Arkansas Department of Education, the federal government — important decisions about children's education are made at basically every level of government. It can be confusing when you are trying to figure out where you should go to advocate for your child or for your community's schools.

AACF Education Policy Director Olivia Gardner will go over what policies and laws get decided at each level of government and suggest ways you can advocate and lobby, from your local school board to Congress.

In July, Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families with the Arkansas Kids Count Coalition is celebrating what we are calling "Education Advocacy Month." We will host virtual events, release new reports, and share other important information online to help you advocate at many different levels of government for your child's education and for all Arkansas’s kids.
