Presented by: Bonnie Birdsell, Associate and Alyssa Gonnerman, Associate

Program Summary:
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an immediate and ongoing impact on employment litigation across the country, affecting virtually every industry. Since the beginning of the pandemic, over 2,000 cases have been filed against employers, with more than 95% of those cases involving retaliation and discrimination claims. In this session, we will explore these pandemic-related litigation trends thus far, the types of claims we believe are on the horizon for 2022, and the steps employers ought to be thinking about now to prepare themselves for those claims.

Discussion Topics & Objectives:
• COVID-19’s Impact on Employment Litigation (20 minutes)
• Recent Litigation Cases and Trends (15 minutes)
• 2022 Litigation Trend Predictions (15 minutes)
• How to Prepare Your Company for Litigation Trends to Come (10 minutes)

We encourage members to bring an associate or colleague that may be interested in joining the ACC Mid-America Chapter. The Association of Corporate Counsel offers numerous benefits and resources to in-house counsel including CLE offerings and networking opportunities and we look forward to sharing that information with others in the field.
