Florence Nduku
Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator of the Scaling Up Conservation Agriculture Program @Canadian Foodgrains Bank
Prior to joining us in 2017, Florene worked with rural communities at Utooni Development Organization, a partner of Mennonite Central Committee in the sand dam and food security program. She also served Lutheran World and worked for Farming Systems Kenya in their smallholder farmers livelihood and water projects. Her passion for communities was ignited after completing undergraduate studies in the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work. Florence has over 17 years work experience in community development.
Carol Thiessen
Senior Policy Advisor @Canadian Foodgrains Bank
Carol Thiessen is a senior policy advisor at the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, and heads up a three-year advocacy initiative to urge the Canadian government to increase aid for agriculture. She has a master’s degree in global ethics, with a focus on climate change refugees (and justice). She lives in Winnipeg with her husband, teenaged son, and the family pooch.
Anja Oussoren
Program Manager – East Africa and South Asia. @Tearfund
Anja started her 27 year international development journey learning from agro-pastoralists and traditional healers in Tanzania for two years with World Renew and the World Agroforestry Centre. She then continued to facilitate community and organizational capacity with ten start-up church-based partner organizations in East Africa with funding from USAID, Global Affairs Canada (then CIDA), World Renew, Food Resources Bank, CFGB, and Christian Aid. She is committed to working with partner organizations that implement participatory rural agricultural and leadership programs. She has been involved with the CFGB "Scaling Up Conservation Agriculture" project at the design and mid-term reporting level, as well as with its Environmental Analysis and its Policy Gap Analysis. Anja has had multiple interactions at the management and field levels with Tearfund's partners in Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia, and knows their leaders well.
