Research in Action - Inspiring the Next Generation of Brainiacs
Two of three middle-schoolers score below proficiency in STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math), and for low-income children who attend Title I schools, in Palm Beach County, the story is even worse.

Join Nicole Baganz, Ph.D., the assistant director of the FAU Stiles-Nicholson
Brain Institute and the director of community programming, who educates
the public about the promise and progress of brain research.

Baganz will address:
• Her path from the lab bench to public stage
• Outreach efforts through neuroscience community programs
• How ASCEND and MobileMinds are addressing the national shortage in
STEM career-oriented students and reaching historically underserved
communities.
