The Economy for the Common Good (ECG) is an economic model, which makes the Common Good, a good life for everyone on a healthy planet, its primary goal and purpose. ECG aims to benefit all stakeholders in an organisation – employees, suppliers, customers, business partners, the local community and society at large. The heart of the model builds the Common Good Balance Sheet, which measures the impact the organisation has on these stakeholders. The Economy for the Common Good was founded in Austria in 2010 and has been established in Bavaria since the very beginning. The German name is Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie (GWÖ).
