10 Years of combatting Femicide
THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO GLOBAL CHALLENGES (IAAI) IN COOPERATION WITH SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL PROPOSE TO ORGANIZE A SIDE EVENT AT THE NEXT COMMISSION ON CRIME PREVENTION AND CRIME JUSTICE COMPOSED OF DIPLOMATS, EXPERTS, AND ACTIVISTS TO EXAMINE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS, NEW STRATEGIES, AND PROMOTE GREATER AWARENESS OF THESE CRIMES AGAINST WOMEN. EMPHASIS WILL BE PAID ON THE NECESSITY TO KEEP ON THE ONGOING FIGHT AGAINST GENDER RELATED KILLINGS, OVERCOME BIAS AND STEREOTYPES AND ADOPT PREVENTION MEASURES AND INSTRUMENTS OF CONTROL. THE EVENT WILL ALSO BE USED TO
COMMEMORATE THE “HEROINES” ADVOCATES, AND INSTITUTIONS WHO HAVE DRAWN ATTENTION TO THE
VARIOUS FORMS OF FEMICIDE.
