Motorised Furniture and the UKCA Mark 16.00 BST
Motorised furniture is becoming much more prevalent in the market, with electric reclining chairs, rise/recliners, height adjustable tables and work tops, as well as motorised door openers, all widely sold.

Due to the additional safety hazards posed by such products, items of motorised furniture are classified as machines, and need to meet machinery regulations.

As the UK transitions away from Europe, there is now a requirement that all new product placed on the market after the 31st December 2021 has to carry the UKCA mark, rather than the CE mark required for the rest of Europe.

SATRA’s Phil Reynolds will guide you through the technical requirements and standards for motorised furniture as well as outlining the differences between the UKCA marking and CE marking processes.
