Mental Training and Mindfulness for Surgeons Masterclass
The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is delighted to partner with the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain & Ireland to deliver a masterclass focused on Mental Training and Mindfulness for Surgeons.

Surgical practice is a stressful environment which has an impact on the surgeon and the team. This webinar explores the value of Human Factors and Non-Technical Skills for Surgeons (NOTSS) in practice. The impact of surgical judgement and stress resilience in surgical practice will be discussed. The webinar will highlight the value of team working as well as improving the psychological safety within the team.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, attendees should be able to:
- Recognise the value of human factors and its impact on surgeons, the team and patient safety
- Describe surgical judgement and its impact on surgeons
- Explain the role of enhanced stress resilience in mental training for surgeons
- Discuss the value of team working in safety as well as improving the psychological safety in the team
