Interest in incorporating pediatric integrative medicine within academic medical centers is growing. As institutions begin to expand offerings in this domain, understanding barriers and facilitators to program development is critical. This discussion will present programs at four different medical centers. Each will give an overview of the program history, status, challenges, successes, and models of care delivery, with the goal of advancing the conversation on this topic and enhancing dialog. Preliminary discussions have shown that many programs face similar challenges; cultivating the shared experience and wisdom from those on this path may inform the development of all programs. This discussion is meant to be the first of many on this topic, and will bring together views on four programs including one in the eastern U.S., one on the west coast, and two in the mid-west region.
