Join us for an evening of film and discussion with Dr Valerie Hänsch, anthropologist and director of the highly acclaimed short documentary film “Manasirland - Development Refugees (2006)”, and Azza Dirar, a PhD candidate who has studied the adaptations of life among the Manasir who resettled themselves along the banks of the Merowe dam’s reservoir.

The webinar will be introduced and chaired by Dr Ahmed Al-Shahi and the Q&A session by Dr Richard Barltrop.

Webinar start time is 3pm British Summer Time (GMT+1).

Dr Ahmed Al-Shahi will introduce the event, and the 2 guest speakers. We will then watch the 23minute film and after the film, the 2 guest speakers will each provide a short presentation. Following this, Dr Richard Barltrop will chair a Q&A session. Questions can be typed into the Q&A box at anytime during the webinar - Dr Barltrop will collate and field the questions to the relevant guest speaker.
