Justin Wrangler
Executive Chef @Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens
Justin Wangler’s affinity for fine food began in Asheville, North Carolina, where he frequently visited his stepfather’s restaurant, The Market Place. By age 10, he was helping prepare meals for family and friends in his mother’s kitchen. Justin received his formal culinary training at A.B. Tech Culinary School in Asheville. After working at several family restaurants in the area and the Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta, he moved to California to work at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa. Now in his 13th year with Kendall-Jackson, Justin has found a home in wine country. “I really enjoy the emphasis on wine and cuisine, and there are some incredible ingredients in and around Sonoma County.” He finds many of them in his own backyard from Kendall-Jackson’s estate gardens, where the broad selection of fruits and vegetables not only provides inspiration but also allows him to use seasonal ingredients at their peak.
Randy Ullom
Winemaster @Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens
From Ann Arbor, Michigan, Randy Ullom grew up watching his father make wine at home, but it wasn’t until he spent three years on a cross-country trek through Chile’s wine country, that he realized he wanted to pursue a career in viticulture and enology. Randy earned his degree from The Ohio State University, and worked as a vineyard manager and winemaker in before moving to California to work for DeLoach Vineyards. In 1993, Randy was hired by Jess Jackson to reopen Edmeades, and since then has led the development of several brands for the company. In 1997, Randy was named Winemaster for Kendall-Jackson Winery as a nod to his intimate involvement in the winemaking programs. When Jess made the first vintage of KJ’s Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay, his goal was simple: He believed that regardless of where you live, everyone deserves a great “affordable luxury.” In 2017, Randy celebrated 25 years of working for the family and 25 years of producing America’s number-one selling Chardonnay.
Tucker Taylor
Master Gardener @Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens
Tucker Taylor grew up outside of Jacksonville, Florida on a three-acre plot of land where he helped his father tend their garden. While at the University of Florida, he worked as a prep cook where he convinced the owners to give him a small stipend to purchase some plants and clean up the landscape, earning the restaurant the City Beautification Award. He returned to school studying agriculture and environmental horticulture, and from there managed and designed different organic farms. He later moved to the west coast to work at Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry in Napa Valley, where he spent five years to redesign the gardens to be an extension of the restaurant. In 2013, he joined Kendall-Jackson to redesign their famous culinary gardens where he currently works with the culinary team, scouring the globe for new and interesting crops to grow. Tucker loves sharing the garden and educating guests on the importance of fresh food – he hopes inspire them to plant gardens at home.
