Employers have increasing workforce need. A lot of people with disabilities want jobs. BUT…there are just not enough job coaches to go around! Agencies that invest time and attention on developing the knowledge, attitude, and skills of their job coaches build their organizational capacity to meet local workforce needs and increase competitive integrated employment outcomes.
Wisconsin Act 323 (aka the Partners with Business initiative) has been supporting capacity building strategies with employers and service providers since 2017. Shannon Webb has been providing training and technical assistance to Act 323 grantees, including Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin (NCW). Goodwill NCW has been building their capacity through the Partners with Business initiative by fostering increased growth, independence and inclusivity for the people they support at work and improving job coaching and case management practices. During this webinar, they will share insights about:
• Why enhancing job coach competency is critical to organizational capacity building efforts
• Best practice strategies for building job coach competencies
• Engaging employers, participants and families in understanding the role of the job coach
