CSE webinar:The State of Extreme Weather 2022
The extreme weather events in the first nine months of 2022 have caused over 2,700 deaths and damaged 1.9 million hectares of cropped area. Five states reported extreme weather on more than 100 days this year: Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
These – and a host of other similar data and information – are a part of Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) and Down To Earth’s new e-book on the state of extreme weather events in India in 2022. The book contains a comprehensive database of disasters and tracks seven extreme weather phenomena, as well
as the loss and damage that can be attributed to them.
