Gary is a US Citizen and based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A US Army Veteran based in Germany (Active Duty Assignments) and as an officer in the Michigan National Guard. As a Corporate Expeditors employee, Gary has responsibility for the entire Cross Border Product which includes all modes of transportation, including but not limited to: LTL, FTL, Intermodal Rail and specialized models which require Permits, Temperature Control, White Glove and/or Strategically Coordinated Delivery Requirements and most importantly Customs and Border Compliance. As a Wayne State University Graduate, Gary has enrolled in the CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) program and brings a vast experience of Transportation knowledge including value added and cost reducing Supply Chain Models and methodologies, some examples of which will be discussed in this forum. Sergio Silva (Regional Business Development Manager, U.S. Southern Border and Mexico @Expeditors) For more than 22 years of experience in the industry, Sergio has provided advice and direction on border logistics at the U.S. & Mexico border for Expeditors. Sergio began with Expeditors as Import Supervisor in 2002 and took on an expanded role in Transition & Implementation for border operations in 2005. Sergio works with the teams in the USMCA countries to help coordinate Expeditors’ services based on needs of Expeditors’ clients. During his years with the company Sergio has developed solid partnerships with customers in North America which has driven process improvements and further development on market growth. Arturo Gonzalez (Manager - LATAM & México Regional Customs Compliance @Expeditors) Arturo has 36 years of experience in Customs and International Trade; He has a bachelor’s degree in Customs Sciences and Foreign Trade graduated from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores del “Colegio Holandés”; He has a Master’s degree in “High Management” from the Graduate Studies Division of Mexico Autonomous National University (UNAM) and has a technical degree as a Mechanic in Gasoline Units; His professional experience is the representation of Mexico before various meetings of the NAFTA Customs Subgroup in classification discrepancies of machinery and equipment with the USA and Canada; He was Chief of Staff in the Central Administration of Foreign Trade and Customs Regulations of the SHCP issuing classification rulings at national level; He was also an Import Specialist with the Mexican Customs Service stationed in Nuevo Laredo customs port; He was also the head of a customs agency and was a purchaser in a Tier1 company supplier of the automotive sector.
