Join MP Rachel Blaney (North Island—Powell River) and MP Leah Gazan (Winnipeg Centre) for a townhall on the right to a safe, clean, healthy environment as a human rights.
MP Leah Gazan recently introduced her private member's bill, Bill-C-232, The Climate Emergency action act which guarantees all Canadians the right to a clean, safe, healthy environment as a human right.
More than 100 countries in the world have recognized that human right in their legislation and/or constitution. It is time for Canada to follow their lead!
"Young people across the country are voicing their concerns about the climate emergency. I share your concerns and I honour your understanding that this cannot be achieved without the recognition and respect for fundamental Indigenous human right as affirmed in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples." -Leah Gazan, MP
