In celebration of our 60th anniversary, the Anderson Forum for Progressive Theology is pleased to present this online presentation by Brian McLaren, pastor, author, speaker, activist, and leading figure in the emerging church movement’s call for a reformation of Christianity. Richard Rohr has called McLaren one of those rare “gifted people who see the situation from a higher and more helpful level.” Visit Brian’s website for his blog, his books, and more information: https://brianmclaren.net/
Conceived as a venue for lay persons to engage in a serious examination of their faith, the Forum (https://afptonline.org/) seeks to serve as a progressive voice in upstate South Carolina and to build a community that fosters serious theological dialogue. This presentation with McLaren focuses specifically on whatever that word 'progressive' stands for, does not stand for, or should stand for as it relates to the Christian faith and the Church - present and future.
The presentation will conclude with a Q & A time, allowing participants to submit their questions directly to Brian.
There is no registration fee. However, participants will be urged in the session to support this event, as well as the continuing dialogical work of the Forum.
