FREE webinar hosted on ZOOM so you can join from home by the Older Drivers Forum.
This webinar is to provide support for families, friends, and carers who are concerned about an older driver.
The webinar includes advice on how to:
* Start empathetic conversations with their loved one, friend or client
* Keep them driving safely, for longer
* Plan for when it is time for them to retire from driving
This also includes strategies in addressing older drivers who are complacent about their declining driving skills.
This 75-minute webinar takes the form of a presentation, followed by Q&A.
It will be chaired by Older Drivers Forum (ODF) Chair and Founder Rob Heard and will be delivered by a team from ODF for Gloucestershire and Driving Mobility.

He is also member of the Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership Operational Delivery Board, which is at the vanguard of a new strategic approach to older driver safety. Previously he was Road Safety Lead for the Gloucestershire Office of the Police Crime Commissioner. His first career was as an award-winning Creative Director in marketing communications specialising in the Pan-European automotive industry. This was a perfect match with his lifelong passion for cars. Rachel Odell (Hubs Mobility Officer @Wessex DriveAbility) Rachel Odell has worked for Wessex Driveability for over 5 years. Having previously managed the Centre, her current role is now that of Hubs Mobility Officer. Her purpose is to work with people who have had to stop driving or are considering retiring from driving in order to find alternative means of travelling to where they need or want to go. In addition, Rachel can provide advice around travelling with a disability and/or a mobility aid on various forms of transport. Rob Heard (Host @Older Drivers Forum) Rob Heard is the founder and Chairperson of the Older Drivers Forum. Rob has previously been in the Police Force for 30 years, being part of the Roads Policing department for 27 years. Rob is passionate about Road Safety and prior to retirement he was the Sergeant in charge of Road Safety for Hampshire and Thames Valley Police. He is a member of the National Older Drivers Task Force and co-author of the recent Task Force report published as a national strategy to the UK government in November 2021 to give help and support to older drivers to carry on driving safely for longer with some key recommendations. Rob has won numerous national awards for his work with Older Drivers and has been awarded a lifetime achievement award from Road Safety Support. He now works as a Road Safety Consultant, specialising in Older Drivers and is a Driver Awareness Trainer Alexandra Lloyd Jones (Co-Lead @Gloucestershire Older Drivers Forum) She has extensive experience of mobilising the voluntary sector having been a Rotarian for over 30-years. She has served as a Rotary Club President on a remarkable five occasions, most recently as President of Rotary-in-Nailsworth. In recognition of her work the Rotary Foundation have honoured her with a Paul Harris Fellowship for community service. She is currently a road safety advisor for her local, Brimscombe and Thrupp, Parish council.
