Description
2023 Women in Publishing Summit
Join us for this special pre-conference webinar!
This author panel, made up of five women who write in five different genres, will provide information on the advantages and disadvantages of self-publishing, working with a traditional publisher, a small press, a hybrid press, or a kickstarter group.
Along with learning about today's publishing options, participants will learn about what they should consider (long-term career goals, marketing ability, costs and personal budget) when trying to get their material into print. They will also learn about companies they should contact and companies they should avoid.

Anderson earned a Ph.D. in Communicative Arts from Georgia State University. She has worked as a freelance writer for national newspapers and magazines and taught high school and college English classes. Crooked Truth, her debut novel, received several awards, including the Ferrol Sams Fiction Award and was nominated for the 2021 Willie E. Morris Fiction Award. She was also nominated for the 2021 Georgia Writer of the Year in the debut fiction category. Beverly Armento Beverly J. Armento, author of Seeing Eye Girl: A Memoir of Madness, Resilience, and Hope, published by She Writes Press, an Independent, hybrid press. Publication date was July 5, 2022, and this book is her “debut” into the general market. However, as a college professor for many years, she's published professional pieces and participated on textbook author teams. You can find out more about Beverly and Seeing Eye Girl by checking out her website: www.beverlyarmentoauthor.com Patricia Bowen Patricia Ann Bowen is completing a medical time travel trilogy about a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, and published Unintended Consequences, a collection of short stories about strong women of all ages in challenging circumstances. Her stories have also appeared in the Table for Two and Stories of Southern Humor and Southern Crime anthologies. More is on the way. She’s taught short story writing, and she leads a critique group of short story writers for the Atlanta Writer’s Club. She lives in Georgia, has four sons, grandkids all over the world, and two cats in the yard. You can connect with her at www.PatriciaBowen.com and on Facebook at WoodsgalWrites. Kathy Manos Penn Kathy Manos Penn lives in Atlanta with her husband and her two four-legged office assistants. A corporate escapee, she went from crafting change communications to plotting page-turners. Years ago, when she stumbled onto a side job as a columnist for a local paper, she saw the opportunity as an entertaining diversion from the corporate grind. Little did she know that her chance foray into writing would lead to writing mysteries in retirement—much less a Readers’ Favorite Gold Award for “Bells, Tails & Murder,” Book I in her eight-book Dickens & Christie series. Taking to heart the advice to write what you know, Kathy populates her cozy mysteries with well-read, witty senior women, a sassy cat, and a loyal dog—all inspired by the people and pets in her life. The murders, however, exist only in her imagination. Kristi Deprin Kristi Deprin is a writer for Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre, teaching children's healthy habits through storytelling and hip hop music. She is passionate about bilingual literacy and has a YouTube channel "Bilingual Read Alouds with Kristi D" where she features books that highlight humor, imagination, and resilience. Her first picture book explores the meaning of "treasure / tesoro" and she used strategic partnerships and Kickstarter to bring her book, "Un Corazon en la Arena / A Heart in the Sand" to life. Follow her on IG @kristionthewebb and @simplespanishsongs1234 If you're interested in working with Kristi, she can be contacted through JE talent in San Francisco where she earns a living as an Audiobook narrator and Voiceover artist.
