TO ACHIEVE THE CITY & GUILDS ACCREDITED CERTIFICATE, CANDIDATES WILL NEED TO COMPLETE A ONE DAY PRACTICAL INSTALLATION, INSPECTION AND TESTING MODULE. THESE WILL BE ARRANGED POST COVID-19, AT VENUES IN THE NORTH, MIDLANDS AND SOUTH OF ENGLAND.
In the meantime, a certificate of Unit credit towards the accredited certificate will be awarded for completion of this theory unit.
This course is intended to ensure that candidates are competent with the application of BS 7909:2011, the Code of Practice for the Installation of Temporary Electrical Systems for Entertainment and Related Purposes.
It focuses on Large Systems that include Three-phase.
Upon completion, candidates should be able to install, inspect, test and certify to the Code of Practice. This would be the minimum level of competence expected of a Person Responsible, for the purposes of BS 7909:2011.
Part 1: Information required for the design of a temporary electrical system
Part 2: Design calculations relating to temporary electrical installations
Part 3: Verification, inspection and testing requirements and documentation
Part 4: Practical application
The test specification for this programme:
Written paper: 16 varied questions, 60 minutes.
Practical assessment: 60 minutes.
This programme is primarily aimed at those working on or having responsibility for temporary electrical installations in their many forms. From Duty Holders to those installing systems, this course covers the applications required for safe and suitable electrical systems.
Candidates undertaking this course will be expected to have completed the 7909-B course on the requirements of BS 7909:2011. Candidates must also have a working knowledge of electrical science.
