Metro East Climate Economy Web Conference - Local Community Investment
In St. Louis's Metro East area, a group of organizations are teaming up to help build local economic resilience and diversity in the face of climate change. People interested in building a vision of the future where business models and lifestyles are good for humanity, the climate and the economy are encouraged to participate. Speakers and panelists for Part 2 of this 3-part kickoff event will discuss the potential, current status and challenges of local community investment and funding strategies. We'll be hearing about financing mechanisms from self-directed IRAs and solo 401(k)s to regenerative food system funding models, and the community-focused programs that can benefit from innovative funding growth, from youth mentoring to property restoration to urban agriculture. A quick introduction to the Metro East's CLimate Economy Action Network (CLEAN) to help individuals get involved take target actions in our local communities will be provided at the end. This event is being held online to keep people safe and healthy while helping to build an attainable and realistic vision of the future where everyone thrives authentically.
