He was awarded the Medal of Honor on July 12, 2011. Petry enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1999, something he had aspired to do since he was a child growing up in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Petry deployed eight times in support of the Global War on Terrorism--twice to Iraq and six times to Afghanistan. It was in Afghanistan in 2008 when he carried out the actions for which he was later awarded with a Medal of Honor. Petry retired from the Army in 2014 at the rank of master sergeant. He and his wife, Ashley, have four children. James "Doc" McCloughan (Medal of Honor Recipient @Congressional Medal of Honor Society) Medal of Honor Recipient James “Doc” McCloughan serves as vice president of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. He was awarded the Medal of Honor on July 31, 2017. McCloughan graduated from Olivet College in 1968 with a BA in Sociology and was drafted into the U.S. Army the same year. He served as a combat medic with the Americal Division during the Vietnam, rising to the rank of Specialist Five. McCloughan had a 38-year career with South Haven, Michigan, public schools teaching psychology and sociology while coaching football, wrestling, baseball, and American Legion Baseball. Jim has been inducted into four athletic halls of fame, including the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and received numerous awards for service and leadership. McCloughan and his wife, Chérie, have four adult children and seven grandchildren Kenneth Fisher (Partner, Fisher Brothers; Chairman & CEO, Fisher House Foundation; Chairman & CEO, Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum ) Ken Fisher is a business leader and philanthropist with an unwavering dedication to serving those who have served our country. He is strongly committed to serving our military community as he carries on his Great Uncle Zach Fisher’s legacy as chairman and CEO of Fisher House Foundation, a leading nonprofit that supports military and veteran families. He has served on several policy boards and round tables, including President George W. Bush’s Commission on Care of America’s Returning Wounded Warriors. Ken attended Ithaca College and received an honorary Doctorate of Commercial Science from the University in May 2016. Among other honors and distinctions, he received the West Point Association of Graduates’ Sylvanus Thayer Award for 2022. He lives in New York with his wife Tammy and is a proud father of three children and two grandchildren.
