The speaker is neurologist from the Radboud University Medical Centre in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. He is an expert on ataxia and has special interest in rare and genetic movement disorders.

B. van de Warrenburg is a neurologist, associate professor and principal investigator at the Donders Centre for Medical Neuroscience and Department of Neurology, Radboud University Medical Centre, and has a special interest in rare and genetic movement disorders. His research group focuses on the clinical and genetic aspects of rare movement disorders, on the system level changes in the brain of patients with such disorders, on molecular pathways underlying these diseases, and on the possibility to intervene by training, drugs or genetic approaches. He is founder and head of the Expert centre for genetic movement disorders, appointed by the Minister of Health and part of the European Reference Network for Rare Neurological Disorders.
