Is Canada meeting the obligation to provide access to inclusive education for Canadian children?
In January 2023 Inclusion Canada and Inclusive Education Canada sent a joint statement to the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to education. The statement addresses 10 questions posed by the Rapporteur. Join us to hear our panel discuss these questions.

Among the questions:
1. How do you assess the 4 A’s framework of availability, accessibility, acceptability and adaptability?
2. To what extent are the non-discrimination and equality principles respected in implementing the right to education?
3. Have past recommendations of the Rapporteur on the right to education of vulnerable and marginalized populations been taken into account?
4. Have recommendations of the Rapporteur been implemented?
5. What are the main challenges and critical issues in Canada in implementing the right to education?

• Michael Bach, Director of The Institute for Research and Development on Inclusion and Society (IRIS) will facilitate the discussion.
• Kurt Goddard, Executive Director, Legal & Public Affairs, Inclusion Canada, will provide comment on the IC & IEC submission.
