Brooklyn Racial Justice Forum
Hosted by the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Neighborhood Association
Featuring panelists Zellnor Myrie (NY State Senate), Dr. Anica Camela Mulzac (Race Positive), Virginia Bechtold (Flatbush United Mutual Aid), Brenda Edwards (PLGNA), Jerry Krase (author of Race, Class, and Gentrification in Brooklyn: A View from the Street), and others TBA
Since its inception in 1968, the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Neighborhood Association (PLGNA) has stood for justice and equality. Some things have changed in the last 50 years, but too much has remained the same. At this evening’s forum on racial justice, PLGNA hosts political and cultural leaders for a discussion of the injustice and persistent violence perpetuated on black bodies, for an opportunity to reflect and mourn together, and share insights on how to challenge and change our broken system. With the goal of working together as neighbors to create real, lasting change in our corner of Brooklyn, PLGNA will facilitate a panel discussion, followed by an open question and answer period via Zoom.
