Please join us in a collaborative exploration of innovative ways to conceptualize and approach self-care in the work of Certified Peer Specialists and Certified Parent Peer Specialists in Wisconsin.
Self-care is often discussed in the standard lens of "coping strategies" or relaxation techniques. However, those who engage in professional peer support work oftentimes find that such commonly discussed strategies only work on a superficial level when seeking to address burnout, "compassion fatigue," or moral injury.
We invite you to join us in a revitalized exploration of self-care for Certified Peer Specialists and Certified Parent Peer Specialists. Some of the material and concepts to be introduced are coming from the work recently done on the Revised Wisconsin Certified Peer Specialist Curriculum.
This Community of Practice is for individuals who can say both of the following:
1. I am a Certified Peer Specialist or Certified Parent Peer Specialist in Wisconsin.
2. I want to engage in a supportive, collaborative learning-based Community of Practice with other CPS/CPPS in Wisconsin.
If the above is true for you, please join us as we seek to learn and grow together how to improve professional peer support services in Wisconsin!
Privacy Transparency: Community of Practice gatherings may be recorded for later on-demand viewing.
CEUs: Attendance at this Community of Practice gathering and completion of a post-gathering evaluation will earn you 1.5 hours of continuing education good for recertification purposes in Wisconsin.
